What You Get on Each Side
Zambia and Zimbabwe share Victoria Falls, but the experience splits cleanly between them. Zimbabwe gives you the whole picture at once, the wide, face-on view that most photographs of the falls actually show. Zambia gives you proximity, paths close enough to the water that you feel it rather than just see it. Booking both sides in one trip means you get the postcard view and the close-up in the same visit, without choosing one over the other.

The Rest of the Country, in Short
Zimbabwe's interior opens into wide, dry grassland, home to some of the country's largest elephant herds, concentrated most heavily around Hwange in the west. Game drives here favour long, open sightlines rather than dense bush. None of this is part of the current fixed route, but it shapes what a longer stay in Zimbabwe could look like.
Choosing When to Go
Water Levels Change What You See
The falls carry the most water between March and May, when spray can fill the gorge and soften the view even from the wide Zimbabwean side. By September and October, water levels drop and the full width of the falls becomes clearer to see. These drier months also bring wildlife closer to rivers and waterholes, making sightings easier if your route includes time beyond the falls. Malaria precautions apply in this region, so check with your doctor ahead of travel. Visa requirements change from time to time, and we confirm the current position and handle the paperwork.
